Eudora Mail Setup

Setup:Eudora Light V1.4.4, Eudora Light V3.02 and Pro V2.2 & V3.x

Setup: for different mailboxes, filters, multiple mail accounts and about.

Eudora Light V1.4.4 --This is an older version for Windows 3.1 and Macintosh.

To setup for connecting to get and send email:

Click on Special then click on Configuration. (maybe Settings on V1.5.x)

Pop Account: emailaccount@pop3mailserver
emailaccount is the first part of your email address
pop3mailserver is your incoming or pop3 mail server name
Example your email address is bob@loblolly.net then your email account is bob
and your pop3 mail server is likely to be mail.loblolly.net... giving bob@mail.loblolly.net

Real Name: Your Full name or what ever you want.

SMTP Server: smtpservername this is for your outgoing or SMTP server.
NOTE: be sure to use your connecting ISP's SMTP server.. Example: you want to check your Earthlink mail account
but you are connected to the Internet via MindSpring. Use Mindsprings SMTP server not Earthlinks.

Return Address: put in your return address..

Eudora Pro V2.2 and Light 3.02 and Pro 3.0x

To setup for connecting to NeoSoft:

Click on Tools then Options to bring up an options menu screen.

Under Category, click on Hosts.

Pop Account: emailaccount@pop3mailserver
emailaccount is the first part of your email address
pop3mailserver is your incoming or pop3 mail server name
Example your email address is bob@loblolly.net then your email account is bob
and your pop3 mail server is likely to be mail.loblolly.net... giving bob@mail.loblolly.net

SMTP Server: smtpservername this is for your outgoing or SMTP server.
NOTE: be sure to use your connecting ISP's SMTP server.. Example: you want to check your Earthlink mail account
but you are connected to the Internet via MindSpring. Use Mindsprings SMTP server not Earthlinks.na.

Ph: and Finger: just leave blank.

Under Category, click on Personal Information.

Dialup Username: just leave blank.

Under Category, click on Checking Mail.

Be sure to select Passwords for Authentication Style.

You can check save password if you want.

 

About mulitple mailboxes and mail accounts and filters.

You can create several different mailboxes for different mail accounts where you can transfer the mail from the incoming mailbox to these mailboxes.. The transfer can be done manually or using filters to sort the incoming or outgoing mail. You still can only get mail from one mail account. to get mail from another mail account you must reconfigure the account info. The Pro version 3.0x does support multiple mail accounts as a seperate Personality.

Setup Multiple Mailboxes:

To create a Mailbox, click on Mailbox then New

and then type in the new Mail Account Name.

OR click on Tools then Maiboxes

and then type in the new Mail Account Name.

 

Setup for Filters:

Click on Tools then Filters then New.

Select what Header:To: From or others by clicking on the down arrow to select options.

Contains: put in the accounts or select/search for or not patterns.

Then click on Transfer and select from the menu what mailbox or other to transfer to.

 

Multiple Mail Accounts - Eudora Pro 3.0x only:

Click on Tools then Options.

Under Category click on Personalities.

Click on New and click in the Personality field and type in a new personality/mail account.

Now fill in the the following info.

Real Name: Your Full name or what ever you want.

Pop Account: emailaccount@pop3mailserver
