Corel Web Designer is a Suite of several programs for developing and maintaining a web site.
In addition to the Web Designer it has Corel PhotoPaint, Corel Web Move for animation and Corel Draw and more.
FTP or uploading and downloading is easy with Corel Web Designer and is easy to see what and where your files are
and where to put them. You can also add directories, rename sub-directories or files, delete or add sub-directories to
your local drive or your web site. You can even change file permissions on the Web Server. (Depends on the Web Server
and/or connection speed. Works on Loblolly.net)
Click on File then FTP.
Click on the down arrow in the FTP Site window to select the setup to use.
To setup or change your Remote FTP Site info, click on Setup.
Whether you put anything in the Working Folder space or not does not seem to matter.
If you right mouse click on a folder or a file on the Remote side ( the right side or the Web Side), you will get a option box
for renaming, deleting, downloading, Create Directory (on folders only) or properties.
The properties window may or may not work on all web servers and on your system..
It works for me on Loblolly.net but I have had problems with it on another web server.
Be careful editing/changing file or directory properties.... You may end up not being able to
access a file or directory!!!!!!
Note: not all user directories may be visible/available to the Web Server!!
Lobblolly.net's Apache Web Server will only look in the user's public_html directory. So put all your web
files in the public_html direcotory or in sub directories under public_html.
Also Note: if you want your site to automatically startup on using www.loblolly.net/~username,
then be sure to have a page named either index.html, index.htm, default.html or default.htm
in the public_html directory. The Apache Web server on Loblolly.net looks for one of these files
in this order and then loads it.
Remember that file names on Unix Systems (Loblolly.net is) are case sensitive; i.e. Index.htm is a different
file than index.htm.
Now just click on the file/folder to upload/download to/from.. Yes you can upload/download whole directories at a time..
Uploading/downloading direcotories can bomb if the connection between you and the web server are slow or the web server
is too busy.
